Blue moon in December 2028
Sunday 31 December 2028, 16:48 UTC
The Moon is in the zodiac sign of Cancer (10°), the Sun opposite in Capricorn.
Distance from the Earth: 377,603 km.
It is the second full moon in this calendar month, a so-called blue moon. It is not blue, only rare: it happens about every two and a half years.
What the tradition sees in it
At full moon the Sun and the Moon stand exactly opposite each other; astrology reads the tension between the two signs. Home and career: the private life against what one stands for in the world.
The name
In the North American tradition, now used everywhere, it is the Cold Moon.
