Full moon in December 2026
Thursday 24 December 2026, 01:28 UTC
The Moon is in the zodiac sign of Cancer (2°), the Sun opposite in Capricorn.
A supermoon: only 356,738 km away, a little larger and brighter than a full moon at its farthest.
What the tradition sees in it
At full moon the Sun and the Moon stand exactly opposite each other; astrology reads the tension between the two signs. Home and career: the private life against what one stands for in the world.
The name
In the North American tradition, now used everywhere, it is the Cold Moon.
