☽︎Rosi's Morning Sky

Penumbral lunar eclipse on 9 December 2030

Greatest eclipse: 22:27 UTC

The Earth stands exactly between the Sun and the Moon, and its shadow falls on the Moon. A lunar eclipse can be seen wherever the Moon is above the horizon, without any eye protection.

The Moon only grazes the Earth's penumbra. To the naked eye it is hardly noticeable, at best a faint grey veil on one side of the Moon.
